Gayen (anglicized as Gain) is an Indian surname of Bengali origin, present across the Indian states of West Bengal and Assam, as well as in Bangladesh. The surname Gahana (variation of Gayen) is also found amongst the Bengali community in Odisha.
In the Bengali language, ''Gayen'' means 'bard' or 'musician'.
